Flyers Try To Stay Alive In Game 6 Vs. Rangers
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers will be in desperation mode tonight as they host the New York Rangers in Game 6 of their first-round playoff series.
The Flyers are a loss away from elimination as they trail the best-of-seven series three games to two.
Goals have been hard to come by for the Flyers in this series. They have lit the lamp just 10 times in the first five games. Just one player, Jakub Voracek, has scored more than once (twice).
A fast start would be a nice change of pace for the Flyers. The Rangers have scored the first goal in four of the five games, although the Flyers did manage to win two of the four games where New York broke out early.
Steve Mason will be in net again for the home team. After standing on his head in his first start in this series in Game 4 (37 saves), Mason was relatively in pedestrian in Game 5, stopping 18 of 21 shots.
If the Flyers win tonight, Game 7 would be tomorrow (Wednesday) night at Madison Square Garden.
