Flyers Go For Third Straight Win Tonight At The Predators
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers will go for a third straight victory tonight as they visit the Nashville Predators.
The Orange and Black beat Washington in overtime in their final game before the NHL All-Star Break. They then came out of the break on Tuesday and beat Montreal at the Center 4-2.
Overall this season, the Flyers are 22-18-8. With 52 points, they are seventh in the eight team Metropolitan Division and five points out of the final wildcard playoff spot in the East. Nashville is 24-19-8, which is good for 56 points. The Predators are fifth in the Central Division and they currently hold down the final wildcard slot in the Western Conference.
This will be the second and final meeting between these two teams this season. The Flyers won the first, 3-2 in overtime, back on November 27th at the Center. Rookie Shayne Gostisbehere netted the game winner in the extra session.
Steve Mason will get the start in net tonight for the Flyers. He made 30 saves in Tuesday's win over Montreal.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with the TV play-by-play voice of the Flyers on Comcast Sportsnet, Jim Jackson, to break down the match-up.
