Flyers Return To Ice, Hosting Buffalo
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers haven't played since that Sunday night loss in Detroit to the Red Wings. That defeat was their second straight and fifth in six tries. The Flyers will try to stop the bleeding tonight at the Center as they welcome Buffalo to town.
Some good news for the Flyers is that they have had success against the Sabres this season. Philadelphia has won both previous match-ups between the two teams, capturing a 3-2 decision in Buffalo back on November 2nd and then grabbing two more points on the Sabres home ice on December 7th, winning 5-4 in overtime.
Ilya Bryzgalov will be back between the pipes tonight for the Flyers. He has missed the last three games with an illness. He was in net for both earlier victories against the Sabres.
Despite their recent struggles, the Flyers remain tied with Pittsburgh for second place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams have 69 points, they are ten points behind the front-running New York Rangers.
Buffalo is in last place in the Northeast Division with 54 points.
