Flyers Recall Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers announced on Friday afternoon that have recalled defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Gostisbehere will be available for action on Saturday when the Flyers take on the Detroit Red Wings. If he sees some ice time, it will be his NHL debut.
The defenseman was solid in camp and preseason with the Flyers and currently has two assists through three games with the Phantoms. In three preseason appearances with the Flyers, Gostisbehere scored two goals and recorded an assist as well.
The move is a direct response to the news that came down earlier on Friday that defensemen Braydon Coburn and Andrew MacDonald would be out due to injuries for at least the next four weeks.
