Flyers Open Homestand Against Rangers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Flyers will try to get on track tonight as they open a five-game homestand by welcoming the New York Rangers to the Center.
The Flyers are 2-5-1 in their last eight games, last time out they lost in overtime in Pittsburgh on Sunday, 2-1. Philadelphia has 28 points on the season and that has them sitting in 13th place in the Eastern Conference. They are five points out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the East, which is currently held by the Rangers.
These two rivals have met three times this season with New York winning two of the match-ups. That includes a 4-2 decision in New York back on March 5th.
Danny Briere is out tonight, in fact he is out indefinitely with a concussion. The Flyers have called up forward Tye McGinn from the AHL to help fill the void and McGinn is actually expected to get plugged in on the Flyers top line.
Ilya Bryzgalov will get the start in net.
This home stand for the Flyers will also include games against the Islanders (Thursday), Boston (Saturday), Washington (Sunday), and Montreal (April 3rd).
