Flyers Open Challenging West Coast Trip In Anaheim
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Arguably the most difficult road trip of the season for the Flyers begins on Thursday night in Anaheim.
It is only three games long, but this trip will have the Flyers facing the top three teams in the Pacific Division in Anaheim, Los Angeles and San Jose.
The Flyers do have a little momentum after shutting out Detroit on Tuesday night, 5-0, at the Center. The win raised the Flyers point total to 58, and that has them alone in third place in the Metropolitan Division.
Anaheim brings an absurd 83 points into this game, which is the most in all of the NHL, and the Ducks have been incredible at home this season - 21-2-2 in 25 games.
This will be the second and final match-up between these two teams this season, Anaheim won the first at the Center way back on October 29th. The final was 3-2. Steve Mason made 34 saves in net in that defeat for the Flyers, and he is expected to be between the pipes for this game.
