Flyers Look To Stay Hot Vs. Carter, Richards and Rest Of Kings

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Flyers are playing their best hockey of the season as they welcome some old friends to town.
Philadelphia has gone 12-2-1 over the last 15 games and they bring a five-game winning streak into Tuesday night's match-up with former Flyers Jeff Carter, Mike Richards and the rest of the Los Angeles Kings. This surge has upped their point total to 83 for the season and that is good for second-place in the Metropolitan Division.
What is most impressive about this Flyers run is the competition it is coming against. Their five game winning streak has come at the expense of the Metropolitan Division leading Penguins (twice), the top two teams in the Central (St. Louis and Chicago) and a solid Dallas team.
Los Angeles has 86 points, that has them in third place in the Pacific Division. These two teams met in California back on February 1st, and it was the Flyers picking up a 2-0 win. Steve Mason made 35 saves in that match-up to earn the shutout, but it will be Ray Emery getting the start in net this time around for Philadelphia.
As for Carter and Richards, both have played well for the Kings. Carter is second on the team with 45 points, Carter is third with 40.
