Flyers Look To Get On Track In San Jose

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Flyers are just 1-7-1 in their last nine games. Tonight they will look to turn things around as they visit the San Jose Sharks.

The Flyers also haven't won a game outside of the Center since they beat Pittsburgh on October 22nd. Since then they have gone 0-6-1 on the road. Put it all together and the Flyers sit at 8-12-3 this season and with 19 points they are alone in sixth place in the eight-team Metropolitan Division.

San Jose is 11-10-4 this season and coming off a 6-4 win over Anaheim on Saturday.

The Flyers won their one game in San Jose last season, grabbing a 5-2 win on February 3rd. That was their first win on the Sharks home ice since 1999. This is their first meeting against the Sharks this season.

Jakub Voracek continues to pace the Flyers in scoring with 32 points (9 goals, 23 assists). He is second in the NHL in scoring and Claude Giroux is 6th with 27 points (7 goals, 20 assists), but the big problem for the Flyers as of late has been a lack of scoring from anyone not on the top line.

Joe Thornton and Logan Couture pace the Sharks with 21 points each.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Sarah Baicker of CSNPhilly.com to get some insight into the Flyers' struggles and tonight's match-up with the Sharks.
