Flyers Look To Continue Surge in Toronto

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – For the first time this season the Flyers have put together three straight wins after rallying to beat Montreal on Wednesday night at the Center, 5-3. They will try to make it four wins in a row on Thursday night as they travel to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs.
This surge for the Flyers has pulled them to within four points of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The 16-17-3 Flyers sit 11th in the conference with their 35 points. The Maple Leafs have 44 points and that has the tied for fifth in the East.
This will be the third meeting between these two teams this season. Toronto has won each of the first two, taking a 5-2 decision in Toronto on February 11th and then beating the Flyers 4-2 at the Center two weeks later.
Early in the season, it looked like forward James van Riemsdyk was going to make the Flyers really regret trading him to the Leafs. He spent the early part of the season amongst the league leaders in goals. However, he has cooled off significantly - he hasn't scored in ten games and now has just 23 points for the season.
While the Flyers turned some heads yesterday with their acquisition of goalie Steve Mason from Columbus, it will be Ilya Bryzgalov in net against Toronto.
