Flyers Look To Continue Dominance Of Pens Tonight
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- There are six games left in the regular season for the Flyers, beginning with tonight's match-up in Pittsburgh against the Penguins.
With 77 points, the Flyers have been eliminated from the playoff race, but the Pens are fighting for position in the Eastern Conference. They are currently second in the Metropolitan Division with 95 points.
While the teams are headed in different directions right now, it's the Flyers who have dominated the series between the two Pennsylvania rivals as of late. Philadelphia has won six straight games over Pittsburgh, including both match-ups this season.
Steve Mason will get the start in net tonight for the Flyers. Incredibly, he will be looking for just his second road win of the season. Mason is just 1-12-6 away from the Center this season, despite a very good road GAA of 2.64.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Dave Isaac of the Courier Post about the match-up.
