Flyers Look For Repeat Performance Vs. Panthers
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – In putting together their 4-6 record, the Flyers have struggled to find the back of the net so far this season. They have just 23 goals in 10 games.
However, the arrival of the Florida Panthers to the Center tonight could help snap them out of the offensive doldrums.
That's because the Flyers scored 30% of their goals for the season in their first match-up with the Panthers, capturing a 7-1 decision down in Florida on January 26th. Matt Read led the way in that one with a hat trick.
This is the third game of a four-game homestand for the Flyers. They have won the first two contests, including a 2-1 win over a very good Tampa Bay team on Tuesday.
Look for Ilya Bryzgalov to make his tenth start of the season in net tonight for the Flyers. He has played very well this season and has been downright dominant against Florida in his career - 5-1-1 with a 1.40 GAA.
Florida comes to town with a 3-5-1 record. They are coming off a 3-2, overtime loss to Winnipeg on Tuesday.
