Flyers Host Red Wings, Looking For Third Straight Win
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Flyers will be looking for a third straight win tonight as they welcome the Detroit Red Wings to the Center.
The Flyers are coming off a 1-0 shutout win over the Capitals on Sunday. Ilya Bryzgalov earned his third shutout of the season in that one and the veteran will get another start in net tonight - his 9th straight, if you're counting at home.
Detroit is a beat up hockey team. The Red Wings will be without several players tonight because of injury. Among them starting goalie Jimmy Howard, leading scorer Pavel Datsyuk and captain Nicklas Lidstrom
The Flyers will not have defensemen Kimmo Timonen and Andrej Meszaros - both are sitting out with injuries as well.
Prior to tonight's game, the Flyers will retire Hall of Fame defenseman Mark Howe's #2 jersey.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Sarah Baicker, who covers the Flyers for CSNPhilly.com, about the match-up.
