Flyers Get Lecavalier Back, Lose 2 Others
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Philadelphia Flyers are getting back center Vincent Lecavalier.
Shortly before their game at the Columbus Blue Jackets, general manager Paul Holmgren announced Lecavalier, who had missed the last nine games with a non-displaced fracture in his back, would play.
Lecavalier has nine goals and five assists in 22 games and leads the team in power-play goals with five.
The club also announced that defenseman Nicklaus Grossman, leading the team with 92 blocked shots, would miss the game with the flu and that right wing Steve Downie, who has two goals and 10 assists in 20 games, would be out seven to 10 days with an upper-body injury.
