Flyers Fans Blame Giroux For Series Loss
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers lost 2-1 in game 7 at Madison Square Garden against the Rangers on Wednesday night.
Flyers captain, Claude Giroux, who finished third in the NHL in scoring during the regular season, scored two goals and tallied four assists in seven post season games. However, three of those points came in the Flyers 5-2 dominating game 6 win on Tuesday night, which included an empty net goal from Giroux when the game was no longer in doubt.
Giroux missed a point blank opportunity from the slot late in the second period on Wednesday night's game 7, sailing the puck high over the net. For the most part during the series, the Rangers defense stifled Giroux and the Flyers.
On Thursday morning, the "WIP Morning Show" asked on the Audio Roadshow app, "Who do you blame most for the Flyers losing their playoff series against the Rangers?"
The plurality of fans blamed Giroux slightly over Flyers owner, Ed Snider. View results here.
The "Mike & Ike Show" asked fans to grade the first round playoff performance of Giroux and the plurality of fans gave the Flyers captain a "C", which was clarified as averaged by host Michael Barkann. View results here.
