Flyers Face Ovechkin-Less Capitals Tonight
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Flyers will try to get back on the winning track Friday night as they host the Washington Capitals.
They had their modest two-game winning streak snapped last night out against Anaheim, as the Ducks rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2. Overall on the season, the Flyers are 3-8 and they have scored two goals or fewer in 10 of their 11 games.
The Flyers should have Steve Downie in the line-up tonight. The forward was acquired from Colorado in a trade on Thursday. The Flyers gave up forward Max Talbot in the deal.
Washington is 5-7 heading into this game and they will be missing a big time offensive weapon as forward Alex Ovechkin is out with an upper body injury. He has scored 10 of the Caps 34 goals this season.
This will be the first meeting between these two teams this season.
