Flyers Andrej Meszaros Has Surgery To Repair Torn Achilles

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Flyers' Andrej Meszaros had successful surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon, the Flyers announced today.
"Andrej had successful surgery this morning to repair a torn right achilles tendon," Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said via press release. "The surgery was performed by Dr. Steve Raikin at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Andrej was injured last week during summer training in Slovakia. Andrej will be out indefinitely."
Recovery from an torn Achilles can take six months, sometimes more, depending on the tear and the athlete.
Philadelphia has not had great luck with Achilles tendons over the last year, with injuries to the Phillie' Ryan Howard, and the Eagles' Jason Peters.
Meszaros had seven goals and 18 assists for the Flyers in 2011-12, his second season with the team.
