Flu Outbreaks May Be Moderating in Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The coughing and the body aches continue, as the flu continues to spread across the country.
But there is good news in Pennsylvania. Kait Gillis, a spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Department of Health, says the number of reported flu cases is on the way down.
"We believe the season has peaked finally, as the numbers from week three to week four have dropped pretty substantially," she told KYW Newsradio this morning. "This week we reported about 3,700 flu cases, whereas last week it was a little over 6,000."
She adds that flu is being seen all over the Commonwealth, so it's still considered "widespread."
In New Jersey, the latest flu tally is logged as "high" in all parts of the state.
Flu season generally runs from October through May, so Gillis says it's not too late to get a flu shot.
