Flower Show Recognizes Local Businesses For Their Hawaii-Themed Displays

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Just in time for the opening of the Philadelphia Flower Show, nine local businesses have received prizes for the best flower show-themed window displays.
Seventy local stores and attractions took part in the contest, making their storefronts and lobbies into Hawaiian-themed spectacles.
Drew Becher, president of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, says it's a great way to get the city excited about the flower show.
"We engage local businesses, we engage the local neighborhoods, and people have a lot of fun doing it," he told KYW Newsradio.
Marcy Kay Lilly of Metropolitan Bakery in Chestnut Hill was thrilled to tie with Just Dogs Gourmet for best overall window display.
"We put our baked goods in the window, we made flowers with baguettes and rolls, and we have a very silly little mannequin that has her grass skirt on and flowers in her hair, and we just made a fun window," she said today.
Other winners include the Philadelphia Brewing Company and the Cira Center.
