Florida Man Charged In 2012 Murder Of Elderly Man In Atlantic County
MULLICA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities in New Jersey have charged a Florida man with murder in the 2012 slaying of an elderly man during a burglary.
Thirty-two-year-old Michael Castro of Dania, Fla., is held in the Broward County Jail on $1.1 million bail and is awaiting extradition to Atlantic County, N.J.
Castro is accused of shooting 77-year-old John Kingsbury twice in the head in Kingsbury's Mullica Township home on Feb. 5, 2012.
A relative found Kingsbury and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It was the first homicide in the southern New Jersey town in 13 years.
