Fleeing Suspect Tells Dog To Bite Camden Cop
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Camden County police say a pit bull bit an officer after a fleeing suspect ordered the attack.
Officers Brandon Galloza and Michael Ross were on patrol Thursday night when they saw 19-year-old Camden resident Thomas Wright and another man engaged in a possible drug transaction. The pair then ran off and the officers chased them into Wright's house on Filmore Street, where another man tried to block the officers.
During this time, police say Wright pointed at the officers and repeatedly ordered the pit bull to attack them. The dog then charged Galloza and bit him on the right leg.
The officer was not seriously injured.
Wright faces several charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer. His bail was set at $25,000.
