Flash In East Coast Sky Has Social Media Buzzing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There was a lot of buzz here and along the East Coast about a flash in the sky last night. Experts say it was a meteor.
Peggy Morshack was just leaving the Philadelphia Museum of Art when a streaking light in the sky caught her attention.
"Amazing colors at the head of it. Red and blue and green and yellow. And it was very close, very bright, very startling."
If you blinked you missed it she says, the flash flaming out in about three seconds.
Many people from along the East Coast saw the same thing, went on twitter, using hashtag meteor just to make sure they weren't seeing things.
They weren't. Bill Cooke with NASA says it was likely a single meteor event.
And Derrick Pitts, Chief Astronomer with the Franklin Institute says it was likely a fireball type of meteor that comes down in the atmosphere lower than others. He says it's not unusual but not seen as often as smaller meteors.
