Fireman's Hall Musuem Has Its Annual 'Fire Safety Exposition And Muster"
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Fireman's Hall Museum's annual 'Fire Safety Exposition and Muster' was held at the Philadelphia Fire Academy on Sunday afternoon.
Horns from dozens of fire trucks sounded to officially start the event. There were fire fighter competitions, fire boat demonstrations, and history with antique apparatus from the 1800's on display.
Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers:
"It brings the region together. All of the different fire companies throughout the region, we just come together, we show apparatus, we deal with the technology. We actually have an interoperability program that we have set up for all of those who come in to make sure if anything happens that we can communicate together and be on the same page. It's very important and a lot of fun."
Philadelphia formed its first fully paid fire department back in 1871.
