1 Person Dead, 6 Firefighters Injured In South Toms River Fire

TOMS RIVER, N.J., (CBS) – Officials say one person is dead and six firefighters are injured following a house fire in South Toms River, Ocean County.

The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. Monday at the unit block of S. Main Street.

Chopper 3 showed several fire companies and medic units at the scene.

Officials say the six firefighters were taken to Community Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There is no word on the identity of the civilian at this time.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's office is investigating.
