Firefighters Battle 2 Separate Fires In Philadelphia Friday
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Firefighters battled two separate fires in the city of Philadelphia on Friday.
The first fire occurred at a two-story occupied home on the 1500 block of South Etting Street around 10 a.m. Firefighters say the fire was located on the second floor.
Officials say the fire was under control by 10:26 a.m. One police officer was taken to the hospital for observation.
The Red Cross is assisting two families that were displaced by this fire.
The second fire occurred around 1:52 p.m. at the 20-story Versailles Apartment building located on the 1500 block of Locust Street. Firefighters say the fire was located on the first floor.
Officials say the fire was placed under control at 2:14 p.m.
No injuries have been reported.
Officials are investigating both incidents.
