Firefighter Injured, 5 Residents Escape Northeast Philly House Fire
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Officials say a firefighter was taken to the hospital after battling a fire that broke out early Friday morning at a home in the Frankford section of Philadelphia.
The blaze began around 1:45 a.m. in the kitchen of the home located on the 1700 block of Bridge Street.
Officials say five people were able to escape the house safely after being alerted by smoke detectors.
The only injury came to the firefighter, who was taken to the hospital with what officials describe as minor injuries.
There's no word yet what caused the blaze.
