Firefighter Critically Injured In Deadly Wilmington Blaze Set To Be Released From Hospital
CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- A Wilmington firefighter, critically injured in ablaze that killed two fellow firefighters will get to leave the hospital.
Firefighter Brad Speakman has spent more than a month at Crozer Chester Burn Center since being injured battling a rowhome fire back on September 24. The fire killed Lt. Lieutenant Christopher Leach and Senior Firefighter, Jerry Fickes and injured three other besides Speakman.
Wilmington Fire Chief, Anthony Goode tweeted about Speakman's release, and also asked people to keep Firefighter Ardythe Hope, "Arty" in their thoughts and prayers as she remains in the hospital.
Officials determined the fire had been intentionally set. Beatriz Fana-Ruiz was charged with two counts of murder in the first degree, assault and arson.
