SICKLERVILLE, N.J. (CBS) –- A South Jersey home sustained heavy damage during a fire Thursday night.
The fire was first reported at about 7 p.m. inside a home on Annapolis Drive in the Wye Oak development in Sicklerville.
When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy fire conditions in the garage area which had spread to the attic, as well as heavy smoke conditions throughout the residence.
Firefighters were able to place the fire under control in approximately 45 minutes. There was nobody inside the home at the time of the fire.
However, the home sustained heavy fire, smoke and water damage.
An investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshals Office and the Gloucester Township Police Department determined that a rag, left too close to a running generator within the garage, caught fire and ignited other combustible material that was nearby.
There were no reports of any injuries.
