Fire Destroys Warminster Twp. Sports Teams Equipment

WARMINSTER TWP.,Pa.- The Warminster Township soccer and baseball teams have plenty of room to play at Munro Park, but now they have nothing to play with.
A weekend fire at the Warminster Soccer Club destroyed a shed behind one of the baseball fields. The soccer and baseball teams stored all of their gear there for practice and for games.
"It's just disappointing when you think that all the money that we spent to get those items are gone," said Brandon Layer, who plays on the field three times a week.
A brand new riding mower inside was worth $5,000 alone and the lost equipment is worth another $10,000, money the township does not have to spare to purchase new equipment.
"The organizations don't have the extra funds to support a tragedy like this or a mishap," said secretary of the soccer league Eric Berndlamier.
The fire also took out electricity to all the nearby lights, so even if the teams find the gear to play, they cannot practice at night.
The kids and their parents will probably have to raise money to purchase all new equipment so they can keep playing and continue to practice. Sports are full of challenges, but this is one problem no one was ready to field.
Investigators say the fire could be arson or it could be an electrical fire.
