Fire Crews Called To Scene Of Explosion In Northeast Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Firefighters extinguished a one-alarm fire that happened after a minor explosion rocked a Northeast Philadelphia building.
Fire crews were called to the scene at the 6500 block of Roosevelt Boulevard around 3:40 p.m., where an explosion had occurred in the basement of one-story structure. The fire was quickly controlled and extinguished, but other buildings in the strip had to be evacuated.
L&I and PECO were on the scene and were evaluating the incident but are unable to determine what caused the explosion as of 4:50 p.m.
There were no injuries reported.
