Firefighters Rescue 21 Cats From Burning Home In Northeast Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Firefighters rescued 21 cats from a burning home in Northeast Philadelphia on Thursday.
The incident happened at about 5 p.m. on the 800 block of Medway Road in the Bustleton section.
As firefighters battled the blaze, they found 21 cats inside of the home. The property owners were not home when the fire broke out.
The Pennsylvania SPCA was called to the scene to investigate. The SPCA is deciding whether animal cruelty charges will be filed.
Investigators say the cats are lucky to be alive. The cats were taken to animal shelters.
No injuries were reported. There is no word on what caused the fire.
