Finishing Touches Being Added To Valley Forge Casino Resort

By Brad Segall

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. (CBS) -
The gaming landscape in the Delaware Valley is getting ready to change again when the area's newest casino opens its doors later this month in Montgomery County.

Workers are putting the finishing touches on the Valley Forge Casino Resort which is scheduled to open March 31st pending final approval by the state Gaming Control Board. It will become the Philadelphia area's fourth casino. During a media tour earlier this week, President and CEO Sal Scheri unveiled the seven restaurants and other amenities that will complement the 600 slot machines and 50 table games. As for entertainment, Scheri says they plan to mix it up.

"We're going to have some headliners, we're going to have some local bands get involved, we're going to probably do some jazz brunches. And we're going to have some great piano players in Valley Tavern," said Scheri.

The resort will employ nearly 800 people. For those jobs, Scheri says they sifted through more than 13,000 applications. Invitation-only test nights on March 27th and 29th will benefit charity.
