By Chelsea Karnash
WOODSTOWN, NJ (CBS) – This September, Salem County is going to the dogs.
Fido's Festival USA, an all-inclusive fair for pups of all breeds and their human parents, is setting up at the Salem County Fairgrounds in Woodstown on Sept. 22 and 23.
In addition to tons of dog-friendly activities like obstacle courses, canine fitness classes, pup parades and various contests, the fifth annual festival also includes performances from groups like "Disc-connected K9s," a well-known ensemble of disc-catching pooches, and appearances from dog-celebrities like "Beefy," the skateboarding bulldog from CBS's Dogs in the City.
And if you need yet another reason to leash up your dog and head to New Jersey, Fido Fest regular, CBS 3 meteorologist and animal-lover Carol Erickson is emceeing part of the festival. Carol, who regularly includes "pet advisories" in her weather forecasts and has written a children's book about adopting shelter dogs, will host the "Gimme Shelter Canine Showcase" and the "Glitz and Glamour Canine Contest" at this year's festival.
