Festival Offers Sneak Peek Into Mummers Parade

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's almost time for the Mummers Parade, but there's chance to get a sneak peek during MummerFest at the Pennsylvania Convention Center through New Year's Eve.
The Fancy Brigades were practicing Sunday, and putting the finishing touches on their routines for the big performance on New Year's Day.
"It's a lot of hard work, it's a lot of fun, a lot of dedication," says Larry, who's with the Avenuers.
The Mummers are a Philadelphia tradition, as some folks have been involved for decades.
"I've known guys that have been doing this for 60-70 years," this man tells KYW Newsradio.
At MummerFest, fans can get a look at some of the costumes, props and floats. There's also a behind-the-scenes tour, as well as activities for kids.
