Feds Nab Alleged Camden, NJ Drug Gang Leader
By David Madden
CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- Federal authorities have arrested a purported leader of a street gang based in Camden, charging him with illegal drug distribution.
Tyrone Tyson, 38, is said to be the leader of the "Fruit Town Brims," a part of the Bloods street gang.
The US attorney contends that Tyson controls gang activities in New Jersey.
Agents picked up Tyson as he was allegedly dealing heroin in front of a home on North 32nd Street, near Westfield, in Camden.
Agents with the DEA have been watching Tyson for the past two months and, while undercover, allegedly purchased heroin from Tyson twice.
If convicted, Tyson could face up to 40 years in federal prison.
