Feds Clamp Down On Montco Company Running Bus Trips to NYC Chinatown

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa. (CBS) -- A federal court in Philadelphia has issued a temporary restraining order against a Montgomery County bus company that federal officials say has been ignoring an order to stay off the road.
US Department of Transportation officials say Double Happyness Travel, of Huntingdon Valley, continues to sell tickets and run bus trips to New York's Chinatown even after they were ordered to shut down all operations last month (see previous story).
The government issued the out-of-service order after an extensive review of the charter company found multiple violations surrounding vehicle maintenance, hours of service, and drug testing.
Transportation officials say safety is their top priority and they will not tolerate irresponsible bus companies that jeopardize the safety of bus passengers and other motorists.
Calls to the company for comment on the court-ordered shutdown have gone unanswered.
