FBI, Abington Police Search For Bank Robbery Suspect
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The FBI and Abington Township police department are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating the individual(s) responsible for the robbery of the Citizen's Bank branch in Willow Grove last Friday.
At approximately 11:42 a.m. a man entered the bank and demanded cash from the tellers, implying that he was armed with a gun. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, which he placed into a plastic bag with a pull-string that he had carried into the bank, he then fled the area of the bank, possibly in a dark blue Kia Sephia sedan with Pennsylvania license plate HKD-3226.
This vehicle was seen by a responding officer from the Upper Moreland Police Department, possibly with the man from the robbery in the passenger seat. The officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the vehicle fled south into Philadelphia, where it was lost.
The subject is described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male in his early 20's, thin build, clean shaven, wearing a dark-colored heavy winter coat or sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, a black scarf over his face, and dark gloves. During the robbery, the scarf fell down off of his face.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Abington Police Department at 267-536-1092 or the FBI at 215-418-4000.
