Fast Food Restaurants Add Healthier Options

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - I don't know if you have noticed but there is a new battle going on at fast food restaurants. It is a desire to make them healthier with their food choices and it is coming from the fast food restaurants themselves. They know people are looking for better choices in food and even the time-tested fast food french fry is being substituted out with vegetables or fruit.
Fast-food restaurants are not entirely to blame for our nations growing weight problem. The combination of lack of exercise and high fat foods is causing us to be obese.
The long-term problems of obesity are great. They include heart disease and diabetes. The bottom line here is we have to do whatever we can to control obesity. Having healthier fast food options could be a major first step.
