Dad Offers More Reward $$$ For Info in Son's Murder

A New Jersey man has more than tripled the reward he's offering for information leading to the arrest of his son's killers.

KYW's Pat Loeb reports the family is still looking for answers nearly two years after the murder.

Matt Novak Jr. was shot to death in September 2008, when he got into a car at 6th and Green Streets in Philadelphia, with three men who said they'd get him jumper cables to restart his friend's broken down car.   The killers drove an electric blue, late-model Impala.  To this day, that is all investigators know about them:

"The investigation is pretty much stagnant."

Matt Novak senior acknowledges it won't bring his son back but he still wants to catch the killers, to get them off the street, and so do family and friends:

"We all got together and said, listen, let's have this fundraiser, raise the reward, maybe make someone come forward to rat out the guys that murder my son Matthew.

The fundraiser was last week.  The reward is now $21,000.

Tips can be phoned into the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS.
