POINT PLEASANT, N.J., (CBS) - The President and New Jersey Governor's presence and personal touch, turned a wet and dreary day at Point Pleasant Beach, into one of the most memorable moments for the Baldwin family. They were visiting from Alabama.
David Baldwin, who met the President, says to his surprise, officials with the secret service came up to him and his family to ask them if they wanted to meet the President.
Baldwin played a game called "Touch Down Fever" with President Obama as Baldwin's 15-year-old daughter took video on her iphone.
"It's just like wow," said Samantha Baldwin. "My dad and the President are playing football together."
"We started tossing balls," described David Baldwin. "Not one of us did it, we didn't get it in. And Governor Christie throws one ball it was pretty amazing."
Governor Chris Christie was a good sport. He gave the President a high-five and told the President, to pick a prize.
It was no surprise when the President, who hails from Chicago, chose a Chicago bear.
The General Manager of the Games department, Mark Malland, said didn't expect what came next.
"To repay the favor the President gave us five dollars, and said he's doing his help to restore the shore," said Malland.
"It's heartbreaking to drive up and down the coast and see, all the devastation that there was. But like I said, there's something to be said about Jersey strong. We're a resilient group of people. We're doing are part to bring everything back," Malland said.
