Family Dispute Leaves 4 Dead Near Altoona
ASHVILLE, PA (AP) — Pennsylvania state police are withholding the names of people involved in a domestic dispute outside of Altoona that left four people dead of gunshot wounds.
Cody Williams, a communications operator at the state police barracks in Ebensburg, confirmed Saturday that a homeowner in Ashville killed two intruders after the man says they shot and killed his wife and adult son Friday night.
Police say the man's daughter was one of the slain intruders, but her relationship to the other intruder remained unclear Saturday, as did the motive for the shootings.
The man, who was not injured, reported the shootings to the police. State police say the investigation is continuing and autopsies on victims were being performed.
Investigators have scheduled a Sunday news conference on the case.
