Facebook Celebrates 500-Million with Special Stories
Thursday marks the day when the 500-millionth person signs up for Facebook. And to mark the occasion, the social website is launching a new feature.
KYW's Kim Glovas reports that it's called "Facebook Stories", and it allows users to post moving and interesting ways they've used Facebook.
Joe Young (right) of Holmesburg says he's used the network to set up a page called "Raised on Cheesesteaks and Tastykakes" -- he's already logged 7,500 visitors. So who are they?
"People that moved away, people that moved to Florida, California and stuff. They post stories about growing up in Philadelphia."
And he says they post photos too.
"There's a few pictures of stuff that I guess originated in Philadelphia, like Franks Soda, Peanut Chews, their favorite cheese steak place, their favorite Tastykake, stuff like that."
Young says he did it for fun about six or seven months ago and he's been pleasantly surprised by the interest.
