Facebook And Instagram Service Restored After Brief Outage Early Tuesday Morning
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Users of social media sites Facebook and Instagram experienced an outage early Tuesday morning for about an hour.
Instagram, owned by Facebook, tweeted that the service was aware of the outage and was working on a fix. The tweet was deleted after the sites went back up.
Both websites became functional again shortly after 2am.
The hacker group Lizard Squad claimed responsibility for the shut downs on Twitter. That claim hasn't been authenticated by either of the sites.
