Expansion Planned for Chestnut Hill Hospital

Chestnut Hill Hospital is planning a major expansion and work could begin this month.
KYW's Lynne Adkins reports groundbreaking is expected soon on a $40 million expansion for the 105-year-old Chestnut Hill Hospital. CEO Brooks Terkel says it will improve several areas:

"New emergency rooms that will expand from our existing 15 to 22 exam rooms, we're going to build a new operating suite that will take our existing rooms from 315 square feet to 600 square feet per room and we're adding a new intensive care unit, going from an 11 bed ICU to a 14 bed ICU.

He says construction will take place where the hospitals nursing school once stood. The project should take 18 months to complete.
