Police Search For Knife-Wielding Suspects Who Slashed Couple

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The couple was just getting back from the doctors when they say two men, one armed with a knife, stabbed them steps away from their home.
"He stabbed me, but I was still in a fetal position on the ground. They were pulling me every which way," the 38-year-old victim said.
The female suffered a small stab wound to her forehead.
It was a violent and stunning attack in broad daylight in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
With no warning, the couple, who we are not identifying, thought they might be killed.
The 52-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder during the struggle.
"It was a serrated knife, so I felt every bit of it and it completely made my arm go numb and drop," he said.
In was around 12:30 p.m. Thursday when the couple was walking from their car to their home on the 6000 block of Edmund Street when one man tried to rob them.
"He held a knife to my head and he said 'give me your pocketbook,'" the woman said.
When she resisted, the couple says a second man attacked them.
Once they had her purse, eyewitnesses say the suspects ran down Benner Street.
"He tried to kill me. Thank God he didn't," the man said.
Police were checking surveillance cameras in the area.
Neighbors are stunned.
"It's very scary. It was in broad daylight. My daughter is home-schooled. She's scared. She doesn't want to go outside,'" one neighbor said.
The suspects are only being described as two white males, possibly in their early 20's. They have thin builds and are about 6' tall.
