Excessive Heat Warning Continues Across Philadelphia Region
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Hazy, hot and humid conditions continue throughout the Philadelphia region.
The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for Philadelphia and the surrounding communities through 8 p.m. Monday.
Forecasters say temperatures in the mid 90s will combine with humidity to make it feel like it is more than 100 degrees.
A heat alert was also issued for Camden County, N.J. beginning at noon on Monday and set to expire at 7:00 p.m.
People are urged to avoid strenuous activity if possible, watch for signs of heat exhaustion, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.
Officials ask people to check on older friends and relatives; others at risk include those with chronic medical conditions, pregnant women, and small children.
