Evesham Township Police Dept. Offers Free Crime Detection iPhone App
EVESHAM TOWNSHIP (CBS) - Evesham Township Police have added patrols in the Woodstream Development after a burglar kicked in the rear door of a home on Brandywine Drive and stole jewelry and electronics.
"I saw the activity down there and wondered what happened," said Joy McGarrigle, who lives nearby.
The daytime break in last week and similar ones nearby might get talked about neighbor to neighbor. Now the entire Evesham Township community is able to see what kind of crime is taking place in residential areas, business districts, or on the roads thanks to a Utah based website called CrimeReports.com. And there's an app for that! You can download it free to your I-Phone
Evesham Township Police Lieutenant Walt Miller says the township added the link for CrimeReports to its own website at the end of March. It allows website visitors to look at a map of the township and see different color coded icons that identify crimes. When you click on the icon, the crime is identified with a time and date and location of occurrence.

Miller says the website even maps quality of life issues including drug arrests. He says in the last five years, Evesham Township has had the most drug cases in Burlington County.
Daily crimes in Evesham are uploaded to CrimeReports at midnight. Evesham paid just under $5000 for the service. There is no charge for residents.
"The break-ins are a concern", says Evesham resident Frank Rizzo who wants to check out the site.
You can check your own community website to see if your town is connected. Crimereports.com's CEO says the company is in active talks with Philadelphia and Camden.
He says it's already providing timely crime mapping and awareness nationwide in cities like Boston, Baltimore and Washington D.C.
