PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- This weekend in Philadelphia is a paradise for foodies, runners, music lovers and fall enthusiasts.

Musical acts Weezer, Twenty One Pilots and Kehlani will all take the stage this weekend in the greater Philadelphia area. Center City Restaurant Week is also still in town keeping foodies well-fed and their wallets protected. Plus, distance runners are gearing up for the Philadelphia Distance Run on Sunday.

We're also talking about fall festivals in the New Jersey suburbs, artistic and cultural festivals in Philadelphia and of course, college football. Read about all those events and more as we break down what's going on around the Philadelphia region from Friday to Sunday.

Center City Restaurant Week

Center City District Restaurant Week returned Sunday to highlight Philadelphia's best and most diverse dishes, from sushi to seafood and burgers to BYOBs.

Experience the City of Brotherly Love's vibrant culinary scene with discounted menus at more than 100 restaurants through Saturday, Sept. 21. 

Options for a three-course, pre-fixe dinner can be all yours for just $40 or $60. Looking for something smaller? Diners can try out a two-course lunch for only $20, too. *Chefs kiss*

Philadelphia Distance Run Half Marathon & 5K

As summer comes to a close, long-distance runners begin to ramp up for The Philadelphia Distance Run on Sunday. Runners stride along the Schuylkill River, aiming for a new personal record, with the city's historic skyline as a backdrop – offering the perfect blend of nature and the urban charm of the City of Brotherly Love.  

The renowned Half Marathon is priced at $145 (increasing to $155 after Saturday). The Half Marathon features a fast and flat course through city streets and along Kelly Drive.

The 5K, which kicks off at 7 a.m., is $60 ($75 after Saturday).

Virtual options are available for both the Half Marathon ($65.00) and 5K ($35.00).

All registrations include a race entry, race tech tee, chip timing with splits, finisher's medal and access to the lively post-race party, complete with a complimentary beer for participants ages 21 and over.

The Philadelphia Distance Run has a rich history of fast times, with six world records broken in the race, making it a can't-miss event for serious runners.

Virtual participants have until 10 a.m. on race day to register for their runs. The race does not offer refunds but does offer other options. You can visit their website for more information.

Weezer brings 90s nostalgia to Wells Fargo Center

"Say It Ain't So!" Beloved 90s rock band Weezer is coming to the Wells Fargo Center Friday night. These music-makers are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their Blue Album (AKA their Weezer album) on tour, and are set to play the iconic album in full in South Philadelphia. The Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr. are also set to hit the stage. 

Tickets are sold out on Weezer's website, but available on Ticketmaster. Don't miss this night of 90s nostalgia and American rock starting at 7 p.m.

Twenty One Pilots rocks out in South Philly

Twenty One Pilots is also set to rock the Wells Fargo Center Saturday night. This alternative musical duo is bringing The Clancy World Tour to South Philadelphia featuring Balu Brigada. No need to get "Stressed Out" though because tickets are still available online starting at $79.50.

Twenty One Pilots' show kicks off at 7:45 p.m., doors open at Wells Fargo Center at 7 p.m.

Kehlani's Crash World Tour at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion

Bay Area multifaceted artist Kehlani will be just over the bridge at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden for the Crash World Tour on Saturday and you won't have to stay "After Hours."

Bringing along British girl group trio FLO and Atlanta's it girl Anycia, there's no need to use a "Cardboard Box," because everyone will be "Back Outside."

The high-energy packed show will start at 8 p.m. with tickets at LiveNation starting as low as $29.75. Tickets for this event on LiveNation are all-priced.

The Crash World Tour was shortly announced after their fourth studio album "Crash" and the recent release of the highly anticipated sequel "While We Wait 2."

Affion Crockett at Punch Line Philly

Beloved comedian Affion Crockett is performing at Punch Line Philly for two nights of laughter. Best known for his roles in "A Haunted House" and "Wild 'N Out," Crockett will take the stage for four shows between Friday and Saturday nights.

The "Soul Men" actor is set to take the stage at 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. on Friday, and 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Saturday. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime, and tickets start at $41.50. Don't miss the chance to see Crockett in action at one of Philadelphia's favorite comedy clubs.

2024 Philadelphia Fringe Festival

The 2024 Philadelphia Fringe Festival is in town until Sept. 29, showcasing more than 300 artists and companies across various venues. Visitors can experience a diverse range of performances, including ancestral shows, live comedy and an ADHD Mixtape.

Audiences are invited to join in the month-long celebration of art through a variety of mediums. Tickets are sold per event and are available on PhillyFringe.org, where the full lineup can be explored. Don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in one of the city's most exciting arts festivals.

Mexican Independence Day Festival

Mexican Independence Day is Sept. 16 by those itching to celebrate early can run down to Penn's Landing for a free, family-friendly festival Sunday.

The Mexican Independence Day Festival kicks off at 2 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. at the Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest. The event is part of the PECO Multicultural Series and will feature traditional Mexican crafts, children's activities and performances by renowned Mexican artists.

The Consul of Mexico in Philadelphia will lead the "Grito de Independencia" ceremony, marking the start of the Mexican independence movement.

The festival concludes with a fireworks finale, but the fun continues at Cherry Street Pier with the Mexican Independence Day After Party. Participants can enjoy the happy hour menu featuring Cantina La Martina, La Placita and Irv's Ice Cream.

Coastal Carolina vs. Temple

College Football Saturday is back in South Philly as the Temple Owls are set to take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at 2 p.m. 

Temple looks to snag their first win since Nov. 4, 2023, here at Lincoln Financial Field against the Chanticleers, a team that currently stands atop their division in the Sun Belt conference. The Owls enter Week 3 of the season having only scored 14 points, while their opponents have scored 89.

Fans can find tickets to this game for as low as $12. 

Haddon Township Fall Festival

If you've already started burning your fall candles and find yourself wearing a sweater while looking longfully out the window with a warm cup of whatever in your hands, then chances are you're ready for a fall festival.

Celebrate the season of fall, a little bit early, along West Park Boulevard and Crystal Lake Avenue in Haddon Township, New Jersey. The festival will feature an apple pie baking contest, wing eating contest, car show, live music, dancing, rides, bounce houses, obstacle courses, food trucks, health and wellness activities, arts and crafts from local artisans and tables by community groups.

Some A-list cameos will be made by Cinderella, Elmo, Spider-Man, Captain America and Princess Elsa.

There will also be a Jam Fest at the Crystal Lake Pool with live music, a beer garden, food trucks, ping pong, corn hole and more! The Haddon Township Fall Festival Street Fair runs from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Jam Fest runs from 1-9 p.m.

While many may not be ready for pumpkin spice season just yet, fall is fast approaching and bringing with it cooler temperatures, crisper air and plenty of outdoor activities.

There's no better place to kick off your season of fall festivities than by visiting Dalton Farms in Swedesboro, New Jersey. The South Jersey staple just began its month-long Tri-State Sunflower Festival where flower lovers can freely frolic among the blooming sunflower fields. 

Festivalgoers can also pick their own zinnias and sunflowers while joining in on family fun attractions like the brand new corn maze, giant slide, trike track and low ropes course. The festival will provide plenty of fall photo ops so guests can capture that perfect selfie for Instagram or hard launch their relationship with an autumnal couples post.
