Event For Research on Rare Cancer is Saturday at Philadelphia Zoo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Hundreds of runners and walkers are expected tomorrow morning at the Philadelphia Zoo, in an effort to raise money and awareness for a rare malady called neuroendocrine tumors, or NETs.
Bonnie Bennett, a nurse at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, says she is hoping to let more people know about the condition during the Saturday morning "Run for the Stripes" at the zoo.
"A zebra is the icon for the neuroendocrine tumors because a zebra is rare and the neuroendocrine tumors are rare," she explains.
The 5K run begins at 9am, with the "walk and stroll" stepping off at 9:30am.
The entry fee is $40, and all proceeds benefit the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn.
