Evan Turner's World Record Broken By Ricky Rubio

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Sixers have lost five games in a row because they've had a hard time making shots. Perhaps they've been shooting them from the wrong place.

In Orlando for the NBA Rising Stars game on Saturday night, second-year guard Evan Turner set the Guinness World Record for shots made from behind the backboard in one minute. Turner made 14 shots in 60 seconds, according to the NBA (see video of Turner making the record breaking shot).

Turner worked in the off-season with shot doctor Herb Magee on his jump shot. His shooting percentage on shots beyond 15 feet is actually lower this season than it was last year. Perhaps coach Doug Collins should find a way to set Turner up behind the backboard in coming games.

**Update**

Minnestoa Timberwolves rookie point guard Ricky Rubio just broke Evan Turner's record by making 18 shots in 60 seconds (see video).
