Evacuation Orders Issued For Toms River, New Jersey
TOMS RIVER, N.J. (CBS) -- The Township of Toms River, New Jersey has issued evacuation notices ahead of the Nor'easter forecasted to hit the region Wednesday, that is expected to bring rain, high winds and the potential for moderate coastal flooding.
According to information posted to the Township's web site, the mandatory evacuations are effective at 12 p.m. Wednesday for anyone working or staying on the Barrier Island.
There is a voluntary evacuation for the low lying areas on the mainland effective 4 p.m. Nov 7th.
According to the Township, there are shelters available at Toms River High School East and North for anyone needing to seek shelter during the storm.
